Abstract
ZHOU, L., S. YANG, and Z. ZHOU (Dukou Horticulture Dept., Dukou City, Sichuan Prov., P. R. China). Investigation of the natural community of Cycas panzhihuaensis L. Zhou & S. Y. Yang. Memoirs of The New York Botanical Garden 57: 148–151. 1990. A vast stretch of the natural community of Cycas panzhihuaensis has been discovered at the hot, dry valley of the Jinsha River, in Sichuan Prov. of China. The C. panzhihuaensis community, which is not damaged, is the most extensive community among all known Cycas communities. On the basis of an all-around and thorough field investigation, we detail the ecological environment, growth and shape of C. panzhihuaensis, and the distribution and synthetic characteristics of the natural community of C. panzhihuaensis. We have also provided a sketch of all the species of Chinese cycads which have been formally described for China.
