B.A. Krukoff led an enormously interesting life. A pioneering economic botanist—and some say a genius—Krukoff was a man addicted to organization whose prized possessions were his files on all his activities. Needless to say, this treasure trove of information was extremely valuable when it came time to write his biography. The volume is divided into five sections: Krukoff's early life; employment from 1928-1937; several drug-plant projects with Merck and his work with the Chicle Development Company; his life as a manager of plantations in Central America and his philanthropic contributions to botanical institutions.
