Description
Species of the fungus Nectria and their conidial states are plant pathogens or are saprophytes on a wide variety of substrates.They have brightly colored, stromatic or nonstromatic perithecia, unitunicate asci and bicellular ascospores. This genus is cosmopolitan but exhibits its greatest numbers and diversity at tropical latitudes.
