Abstract

Memoirs of The New York Botanical Garden 57: 162–168. 1990. The presence of the genus Encephalartos is reported for Zambia for the first time. The plant agrees with the description of E. schmitzii. The phytogeography of the genus Encephalartos is stated. Reasons for its scarcity in Central Africa are discussed.
