Callirhoe (Malvaceae) is a small genus of herbaceous annuals, biennials, and perennials that is restricted to northern Mexico, the Great Plains from Texas north to Nebraska, the Upper Mississippi River drainage, the Ozark and Oauchita mountains, and the Gulf Coastal Plain of the United States.This treatment recognizes nine species and two additional varieties. Included are keys, descriptions, distribution maps and information, black and white illustrations, leaf silhouettes, and information on ethnobotanical and horticultural use.
