Brazil is one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth and contains about fifteen percent of the world's bryophyte diversity. The Hepaticae and Anthocerotae of Brazil provides keys, descriptions, and illustrations for the families, genera, and about 600 species of liverworts and hornworts recorded from Brazil. This book is the first modern identification manual for tropical liverwort species. it is the result of a successful partnership between the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro and the University of Gottingen, Germany, and demonstrates how major gaps in our knowledge of tropical biodiversity can be filled by international cooperation.
