Midnight Garden Mix
Just as night owls thrive in the solitude of a midnight silence, evening pollinators do their best work in the dark—and some plants have evolved to attract them. White-colored blossoms that appear blinding under bright sun transform into delicate shimmery landing pads under the lunar light, when other colors disappear from the landscape. They emit intoxicating aromas, much stronger than those of day-blooming plants—another adaptation to stay noticeable in the veiled landscape of the night.
This mix of night-blooming annuals includes the following components:
- Candytuft (Iberis umbellata)
- White Four O'Clocks (Mirabilis jalapa)
- White Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus)
- Sweet Mignonette (Reseda odorata)
- Bishop's Flower (Ammi majus)
- Evening Scented Stock (Matthiola bicornis), and
- Sensation Mixed Nicotiana (Nicotiana alata).
500 seeds sow a 3'x10' garden plot.
